Rochester, IN (May 28) – Beacon Credit Union is giving community members the opportunity to safely clean out old paperwork and protect personal information during a free Community Shred Day on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Rochester location, 430 Rouch Place Drive.

Residents are encouraged to bring confidential documents including bank statements, medical files, tax paperwork, and other sensitive materials for secure on-site shredding. This event is designed to help individuals reduce clutter while taking an important step toward preventing identity theft and fraud.

Beacon Credit Union staff will be available throughout the event to direct vehicles to the shredding truck and assist with traffic flow to keep the process quick and convenient. Small staples and paper clips may remain attached to documents and do not need to be removed beforehand.

To allow more community members the opportunity to participate, each vehicle will be limited to three boxes of documents. Boxes should not exceed 18” x 12” x 15” in size.
