In 1931, a group of seventy-five farmers in Wabash County, Indiana joined together to form their own financial cooperative. This group of leaders’ simple vision was to provide savings and dependable loan programs, particularly to farmers, in the area. In keeping with this heritage, Beacon Credit Union has remained a leader in serving the agricultural community.

Currently, Beacon CU is proud to be the largest agricultural lending credit union in the nation. In rural Indiana, where agricultural heritage is still a significant part of the cultural patchwork — from 4-H fairs in the summer to harvest moons in the fall – our communities are about far more than just farming, and so is Beacon Credit Union.

Today, Beacon has over $1.4 billion in assets, has grown to include over 20 locations, and serves over 47,000 members located throughout Indiana and reaching out across all 50 states. Beacon’s commitment to a business philosophy centered on service and added value has created a credit union whose name is synonymous with financial strength and stability. We are committed to “Guiding the Way” with service and value through financial knowledge and member education.
