Huntington, IN (June 29) – Beacon Credit Union recently presented a $500 donation to United Way of Huntington County in support of two impactful community initiatives that help improve the lives of local residents.
The donation will help sponsor United Way’s Discs for a Difference and Doubles Dink events, which benefit Huntington County’s Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Funds raised through these community tournaments help provide one free book each month to children from birth to age five, encouraging early literacy and a lifelong love of reading.
In addition, the donation supports United Way’s annual Day of Caring, an event that mobilizes volunteers from local businesses, churches, and organizations to complete service projects for senior residents throughout the community. Volunteers assist with landscaping, painting, cleaning, and other home improvement projects that help older adults safely age in place.
“United Way continues to create opportunities for children, youth, families, and seniors to thrive throughout Huntington County,” said Nathan Zeller, Beacon Credit Union’s Huntington Member Center Manager. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support these events and help make a positive difference in the lives of those in our community.”
