PLYMOUTH, Ind. (October 31, 2024) – Beacon Credit Union recently donated $500 to Warm Up Marshall County.
“Getting involved with Warm Up Marshall County is a meaningful way to support your community and make a tangible impact on the lives of people struggling to stay warm. Winter coats can be expensive, and for families in need, providing proper winter clothing for everyone can be a financial challenge,” Beacon Credit Union’s Plymouth Member Center Manager Melissa Owen stated. “By donating gently used coats or contributing to a coat drive, you’re not only offering protection from the cold but also sharing a message of compassion and support. It’s a straightforward way to bring warmth, comfort, and hope to others, with the knowledge that even a small gesture on your part can make a significant difference in someone’s life,” Owen exclaimed.
“Giving to Warm Up Marshall County feels incredibly rewarding and heartwarming. There’s something truly special about knowing that a small act of generosity—like donating a coat—can make a big difference in someone’s life, especially as winter approaches,” Owen shared. “Each donation is more than just clothing; it’s a gift of warmth, comfort, and dignity. There’s a sense of pride and connection to the community, knowing that together, we’re helping others stay safe and warm. It reminds you of the power of kindness and how even small gestures can bring hope and make the world a bit brighter for someone in need,” Owen explained.
The donation of $500 will go towards Warm Up Marshall County who helps provide winter coats to families in need. The Plymouth Member Center is one of the drop off locations for the coat drive and it will be available for donations from October 28th through November 20th. The coats will then be distributed to families on November 23rd and 24th.
