RCHS Lions Food Pantry (Check Presentation) Rushville, Ind. (October 17, 2024) – Beacon Credit Union recently donated $500 to Rushville Consolidated High School’s Lions Gleaners Food Pantry.

“The thought of a child arriving at school hungry or knowing they won’t have a proper dinner, doesn’t set well with me. If we all buy 1 or 2 extras item during our normal grocery trips, we can make a huge difference for someone else’s life.” Beacon Credit Union’s Rushville Member Center Manager exclaimed.

“I feel it is important to give back to our community and take care of the next generation of children,” Beacon Credit Union’s Rushville Member Service Representative Ann Megee said. “It is important for children to have adequate nutrition in order for them to succeed in school and to feel their best.”

“Over the past years, I have known students who are in charge of preparing dinners for their younger siblings. I love the idea of having a food pantry at the high school as this make it more accessible to those students and faculty who needs assistance.” Diana stated.

“It feels good to help out our local children and their families. We provided a variety of items including food and personal hygiene supplies.” Megee explained.

This donation will go towards supporting the Lions Food Pantry. Beacon Credit Union’s Rushville Member Center hosted a food drive for Rushville Consolidated High School. They collected non-perishable food items as well as personal care items.
