Rochester, IN (August 25) – Beacon Credit Union’s Rochester Member Centers recently donated $500 to Fishes & Loaves, a volunteer-led organization working to ensure local families have access to fresh, ready-to-eat meals.

Fishes & Loaves began in November 2025 with a vision of creating a community where no family has to worry about their next meal. Each Saturday, volunteers gather at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rochester to prepare, package, serve and deliver more than 370 meals to members of the community.

The organization operates on a fully open-door basis, welcoming everyone without questions or requirements. Its volunteer-driven model allows community donations to directly support the food being provided to those in need.

“Giving to Fishes & Loaves feels like you’re putting kindness directly into someone’s hands,” said Erica Rude, Beacon Credit Union’s Rochester Main Street Member Center Manager. “It is simple, humble and incredibly meaningful. The organization operates with volunteer labor and community support, which means every dollar goes further than most would expect. We are not helping to fund overhead; we are funding the food that will feed our community.”

Beacon Credit Union is grateful for the opportunity to support Fishes & Loaves and the volunteers who continue to make a meaningful difference for families throughout the Rochester community.
