Orleans, IN – (November 12) – Beacon Credit Union’s Orleans Member Center has donated $500 to the Bulldog Backpacks program, an initiative dedicated to ensuring that Orleans Elementary School students don’t go hungry over the weekend.
Bulldog Backpacks provides food bags each Friday to families who have signed up for the program, helping bridge the gap for children who may not have consistent access to meals outside of school days. Currently, the program serves 109 students within the Orleans community.
“Programs like Bulldog Backpacks make a real difference for families in our area,” Jake Carter, Orleans Member Center Assistant Manager, said. “It is a good feeling to help feed the children in our community through this type of program, knowing that 100% of our donation goes directly toward food.”
Beacon Credit Union’s contribution will help the program continue providing healthy, accessible food options to students throughout the school year, a reflection of the credit union’s commitment to strengthening communities and improving lives.
