Rushville, Ind. (March 5, 2025) – Beacon Credit Union recently donated $1,000 to Mahoning Valley Christian Service Camp.

“I love Mahoning Valley and I went there every year when I was a child. It’s a great place to go to be with other like-minded children and youth leaders,” member service representative Diana Newhouse said. “It was great to have a Christian camp in our county to go to. I cannot say enough good things about this place. A full week of learning new things and singing and praising God,” Newhouse exclaimed.

“This organization benefits many children in our community. It feels great to give to the children of our community and know they will make many wonderful memories in the new pool at Mahoning Valley Camp,” Ann Megee, member service representative, stated.

“I believe Rush County is very fortunate to have a locally run camp like Mahoning Valley Christian Service Camp. I love how several campers turn into future camp counselors and role models,” member center manager Diana Marlatt said. “Mahoning Valley provides a variety of opportunities for all ages including day camps, overnight camps, and parent/child experiences. Each camp is unique and there are activities held throughout the year, not just in the summer.”

“I feel that it benefits the children to have a pool on site instead of busing the kids to the public pool in town as that takes out of the pool time if you are having to bus kids,” Newhouse shared.

“My daughter can’t talk enough about how she got to master her swimming skills in the camp’s pool and the fun she had with her friends at soccer and fishing camp. Beacon’s $1,000 donation is the equivalent to five yards of concrete needed for the new pool. I am proud to help give back to an organization that is providing my children a safe, educating, and fun environment during the summer,” Marlatt exclaimed.
