Seymour, IN (December 17) – Beacon Credit Union is proud to support Anchor House with a recent $760 donation to help further its mission of serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Jackson County community.
Anchor House is a vital local resource, offering emergency housing and comprehensive support services designed to help individuals and families regain stability and independence. The shelter can accommodate up to 10 family units and 38 single units at one time, providing a safe and supportive environment for those in need. In addition to housing, Anchor House offers meals, job placement assistance, and life skills classes that equip residents with the tools they need to get back on their feet.
In addition to emergency housing services, Anchor House operates a community food pantry that allows individuals and families to shop for the food they will use in their homes twice each month. The pantry provides a wide selection of items, including fresh bread, produce, meat, dairy products, and an assortment of non-perishable goods, helping ensure access to nutritious food for members of the community.
“Anchor House is a much-needed support system for our community,” said Amy Steitz, Seymour Member Center Manager. “Their commitment to meeting both immediate needs and long-term stability aligns with our mission to strengthen the communities we serve. We are honored to support the meaningful work they do every day.”
