WABASH, Ind. (March 5, 2026) – Five high school seniors who will begin their freshman year of college this fall have been selected to receive a $2,500 scholarship through the Beacon Scholarship Program.
The program received 248 applications this year. A panel of judges reviewed submissions through a four-stage scoring process designed to ensure a thorough evaluation of each application.
Judges considered the originality and thoughtfulness of applicants’ responses to essay prompts, along with the clarity, depth, and overall quality of writing, including grammar and structure. After multiple rounds of review, five students were selected as this year’s scholarship recipients.
The recipients of the 2026 Beacon Scholarship Program are:
- Avery Ziembo – Carroll High School
- Danika Holbrook – Southwood High School
- Lily Yax – Lewis Cass High School
- Anna Sterk – Tippecanoe Valley High School
- Sophia Holley – Northfield Jr/Sr High School
As we congratulate these five students who are receiving the scholarship, we also wish them the best as they embark on their new academic and life journey.
