Use extreme caution with any texts purporting to be from Toll Roads. Drivers are receiving phishing texts that state they owe an outstanding toll amount.

Some of the texts include links to fictitious sites made to look like the real toll road fee sites. The texts may reference excessive late fees and possible legal action (including the loss of your license) if you don’t pay the toll fees immediately.

Regardless of the specifics, those texts are an effort by fraudsters to gain your card and/or personal information. Once they have that data, fraudulent card transactions begin to clear your account.

If you receive one of these texts, use caution. If you’ve already received one of these phishing texts and given out your card information, notify your financial institution immediately.
