Learn More Center

Learn More Center is Wabash County’s only adult basic education program. We serve students 16 and older who are no longer being served by the k-12 system. We offer high school equivalency diploma instruction and testing, English Language Learning classes, college and career readiness classes, and workforce certifications. Our services are free of charge for students!

Manchester Early Learning Center

Manchester Early Learning Center is a non-profit daycare and preschool in North Manchester. We are the only licensed center for our town. We work hard to provide quality care and education for the youngest members of North Manchester at an affordable price. We rely on grants, donations and town support to keep our prices down, while still making sure to have a quality, trained staff who are passionate about early childhood education. We are opening a new infant room so parents can have the peace of mind that there is a safe place to bring their new child to. Parents in North Manchester rely on us so they can work to provide for their families.

Junior Achievement Serving North Manchester

Junior Achievement aims to teach young people about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship by connecting local volunteers to teach our curriculum in the local schools. We have specialized material for each grade level, with each year building on the prior. This comes at little to no cost to the schools so without the communities help this would not be possible.

Community Services of North Manchester d/b/a Manchester Soccer Club

The Manchester Soccer Club started out as a club to provide opportunities for high school students to play soccer in our community since it was not school sanctioned at the time. It then added junior high and elementary leagues and most recently, almost 20 years ago now, added a Kindergarten league as well. While the club dropped the high school level once it became sanctioned through the school, it has continued to provide club soccer for junior high athletes since the school sanctioned sport takes place in the spring. The Manchester Soccer Club is committed to ensuring the continuity of the soccer experience for all age levels. The club has coordinated with the junior high and high school programs to serve as a feeder program for those higher levels of play. They are also collaborating with a nationally known and recognized program to provide an elite summer camp opportunity for not only our athletes, but those in surrounding communities as well. The Manchester Soccer Club has engaged in fundraising opportunities by collaborating with local businesses, completing volunteer activities or highlighting their businesses to benefit everyone. When the Manchester Soccer Club hosts the junior high tournament, they have collaborated with the Manchester University Sports Management program to gain volunteers and assist university students in fulfilling course requirements (service hours) and provided insight into event management.

Laketon Lions Club

We give all of the money that we raise throughout the year back to the community as well as our State Projects. We buy dictionaries for the 3rd grade students as well as donate some to the Learn More Center. We put on the Laketon Easter Egg Hunt every year. We donate to Junior Achievement, the Center for History, the library summer reading program, the Laketon/Pleasant Township Association for the street lights, and many, many more.

Daniel’s Place

Daniel’s Place is a nonprofit organization focused on providing respite care across the lifespan of persons with physical and intellectual disabilities. They care for guests of any age.

Daniel’s Place gives short-term care to people whose disabilities are such that they need continual assistance. Respite allows for time off from caregiving responsibilities while providing a safe, comfortable place for loved ones. As little as 4 hours of respite per week has been shown to make significant differences in caregiver lives.

Both our guests and their families will benefit from respite care. After taking a break, caregivers are able to give more and enjoy doing it! Individuals who stay at Daniel’s Place have an opportunity to learn that they can count on others for help. They can also form new friendships, experience new environments, and have fun!

North Manchester First Brethren Youth Group

Originally constructed in 1978, the current room has served several generations but has not seen any significant cosmetic updates. Under the leadership of Youth Discipleship Coordinator Chris Rodgers, we are planning a much-needed transformation of this space. The renovation will include new paint, carpeting, a welcoming check-in area, LED lighting, and designated zones for junior and senior high students. This updated space serves over 100 K-12 students from North Manchester and surrounding communities who participate in youth activities, providing a modern, safe, and inviting environment for spiritual growth, discipleship, and mentoring. The total estimated cost of the project is $40,000. We would be honored by any partnership in helping make this vision a reality for the next generation. Thank you for your consideration.

Wabash County Cancer Society

The Wabash County Cancer Society (WCCS) was formed in 1959 when a group of doctors of Wabash County saw a need to help the cancer patients of Wabash County.

Our goal is to make sure everyone with cancer in Wabash County knows that they can receive assistance, which helps relieve some of the burden while fighting this disease. And also to increase our membership within the society with members from all over the county.

At Wabash County Cancer Society of Indiana we’re raising funds and promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society. Although we are a cancer society, we ARE NOT a part of the American Cancer Society. all funds and donations collected are used exclusively in Wabash County. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference in the lives of others.

The WCCS is funded through both public and private donations, memorials, and fundraisers. Such fundraisers are: The Tree of Caring in February, the chair auction during the North Manchester Festivals, Wabash Canonball Chili for Charity(blessed recipient several times), Wabash County Cares fundraisers, and motorcycle rides sponsored by Brandt’s Harley Davidson of Wabash.

Wabash County Foster Closet

There is no other support like this in all of Wabash County or Miami County. What a wonderful way to love and care for children and foster parents.
