On Friday, May 15, 2009 a fraudulent text message was sent to a number of local cell phones that said the following:

“We regret to inform your Credit Union debit card has been blocked. To activate your credit union debit card, please call us at 877-xxx-xxxx”

This message is a fraudulent attempt to obtain important information about your debit card and was not sent by Beacon Credit Union.  Please do not call any number in a text message and share any information about your debit card.
