| 2007 Scholarship Winners
Beacon Credit Union has announced that it has awarded eight (8), five hundred dollar scholarships as part of its annual scholarship program.
To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must be entering their freshman or sophomore year of college and be a member or have a parent or guardian who is a member of Beacon Credit Union. Applicants were asked to complete a short application form and submit a 200 to 300-word essay on “How is the United States government safeguarding the United States financial system against terrorism and other national security threats?
Of the 142 applicants, the following eight were rewarded scholarships by the Scholarship Committee. Britt Foster, a student at Logansport High School; Jacob Baber, a student at Peru High School; Kyle Miller, a student at Herron School of Art & Design; Benjamin Reason, a student at Caston High School; Kassi Dyson, a student at Northfield High School, Joel Thayer, a home-educated student in Sharpsville; Lauren Cooper, a student at Duke University; and Joshua Thayer, a home-educated student in Sharpsville.
Applications for the 2008 Beacon Credit Union Scholarships will be made available on February 1, 2008.
